Scientia Temisien: Jurnal Teologi dan Pendidikan Kristiani

1. General Requirements

Scientia Temisien publishes original research articles in the fields of theology and Christian religious education. Submitted manuscripts must:

  • Be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere
  • Demonstrate clear academic contribution and relevance
  • Follow ethical research and publication standards
  • Be written in Bahasa Indonesia or English

All submissions undergo a double-blind peer-review process and plagiarism screening.


2. Manuscript Structure

2.1 Title

  • Maximum 14 words (excluding prepositions and conjunctions)
  • Clear, concise, and reflective of the research focus

2.2 Author Information

  • Full name(s) of author(s)
  • Institutional affiliation(s)
  • Corresponding author’s email

2.3 Abstract and Keywords

  • Written in Bahasa Indonesia and English (except English articles: English abstract only)
  • Length: 150–175 words
  • Single spacing, font size 12
  • Must include:
    • Research problem
    • Objective
    • Method
    • Results
    • Conclusion
  • English abstract:
    • Past tense for methods
    • Present tense for results and implications

Keywords:

  • 3–5 relevant terms

2.4 Introduction

The introduction should:

  • Present the research background (from general to specific issue)
  • Use recent references (preferably within the last 6 years)
  • Include a literature review to identify the research gap
  • Clearly state:
    • Research problem
    • Argument or thesis statement
    • Research objective (preferably one main objective)
  • End with a brief outline of the article structure

2.5 Research Method

This section must:

  • Clearly explain the research design and method used
  • Distinguish between:
    • Type of research (qualitative/quantitative)
    • Methodological approach
  • Describe procedures, data collection, and analysis techniques
  • Avoid unnecessary theoretical definitions unless critically relevant

2.6 Results and Discussion

  • Present findings clearly and systematically
  • Integrate analysis and interpretation (not just description)
  • Use tables only when essential; less important data should be placed in supplementary files
  • Figures/graphs must:
    • Be relevant
    • Include proper source attribution
  • Avoid:
    • Excessive direct quotations
    • Translating quotations across languages
    • “Run-away citations” (unclear or unsupported references)
  • Emphasize critical engagement with sources through paraphrasing

Subheading Format

  • Level 1: Font size 15
  • Level 2: Font size 13

2.7 Conclusion

  • Written in one concise paragraph
  • Directly answers the research objective
  • Not a summary of the discussion
  • May include future research directions

3. Citation and References

  • Use Turabian Style (Footnotes)
  • Recommended to use reference management tools (e.g., Mendeley)
  • Requirements:
    • Book citations must include page numbers
    • Journal citations refer to the entire article
  • Avoid:
    • Wikipedia and similar sources
    • Popular media (e.g., news portals) as primary references

Reference List

  • Include only cited sources
  • Prefer recent scholarly works (last 5–6 years)
  • Example:

    • Abstract: Goudy Old Style, size 12
  • Spacing:
    • Abstract: single spacing
  • Use consistent heading hierarchy
